Delightful Easy Music For School Children, Church Choirs, Music Groups And Small Ensembles
Multi award winner, Judy Lane, specialises in composing music for
class and choir singing in schools, churches and music groups. Much
of her music is particularly suitable for junior school class
singing, school choirs and end of term concerts.
Judy studied at the Royal Academy Of Music and gained LRAM, ARCM and GRSM qualifications. Her tutors included Michael Head [The Little Road To Bethlehem].
She taught for many years but now puts all her energies into composing music for school children, junior choirs, church choirs and music groups.
Many
of the lyrics have also been written by Judy.
In
the past Judy has been twice winner of the Lennox Berkeley Cup in
the open composition class at the Oxford Music Festival including
an 'outstanding' grading. Her hymn/anthem 'Only Remembered'
was commissioned on behalf of the Royal Army Medical Corps in a
composing competition.
The
brief included - 'a musical setting of Horatius Bonar's words,
remembering fallen soldiers, for solo or SATB choir singing'.
Judy's
composition was chosen as the winner, according to judges "for its
pure simplicity and beauty". The last few years has seen the
inclusion of this moving hymn/anthem into several Remembrance
Sunday services in churches around the UK. Click
